The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts announced Friday that Commonwealth of Virginia employees, preschool and K–12 teachers (public and private), as well as active-duty military personnel and their immediate families can receive free admission to Edward Hopper and the American Hotel, on view Oct. 26, 2019 through Feb. 23, 2020.
The new, three-level, 55,000-square-foot venue located in the Westwood area of Henrico is the company’s 57th location worldwide. The complex will feature high-tech entertainment and gaming, climate-controlled hitting bays, a renowned menu, hand-crafted cocktails, local Hardywood craft beer, corporate and social event spaces, music and more.
As part of the exhibition Edward Hopper and the American Hotel, opening Oct. 26, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts will recreate Western Motel—one of Edward Hopper’s best-known paintings—as a three-dimensional motel space. The “Hopper Hotel Experience” affords visitors the opportunity to book a night in this room-size replica of Western Motel.
