On Monday morning, local business and nonprofit leaders, along with Mr. Monopoly, unveiled MONOPOLY: Richmond Edition at the Virginia War Memorial.

MONOPOLY: Richmond Edition replaces the perennial board game’s Atlantic City squares (from Boardwalk to Park Place) with Richmond cultural sites, historic landmarks, charitable organizations, and businesses. It also features customized Community Chest and Chance playing cards to ensure the board is an enduring tribute to the Richmond Region.

“We received a warm welcome from Richmond when we announced plans for MONOPOLY Richmond, and we greatly appreciate everyone who suggested landmarks, organizations, and businesses that make Richmond unique and special,” said John Marano, a Top Trumps USA representative. “We are pleased to release the final board and look forward to seeing Richmonders play the beloved game for many years to come.”

Spaces that made the final board include:

  • James River
  • Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
  • Richmond Kickers
  • Community Chest (Daily Planet Health + Services)
  • Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
