LEGO has created a special Holiday Workshop in West Broad Village, 2443 Old Brick Road, Glen Allen, but it will only available this weekend November 7-8, 11am – 7pm. It’s free to attend but advance ticket registration is required. (Currently there are no reservations but we were told that more would be opening up as they figured out capacity.)

Guests will explore seven festive areas and receive an All-Access Holiday Magic pass to guide them through the workshop’s departments. When the experience is complete, they can enter the “Win Your Wishlist” sweepstakes.

  • Little Big Ideas Department (LEGO Snowman): Our youngest builders follow their curiosity, try things their own way and discover where a simple idea can lead. An activity zone lets preschool-aged kids build their own creations and explore LEGO DUPLO® sets on display to inspire their creativity.

  • Merry Motorworks (LEGO Gingerbread Woman): Vehicles are dreamed up, built and tested against the workshop’s toughest standards until they’re ready to become someone’s next favorite gift. Families can build at the tables, send their creations down the race ramp and admire the best-in-class cars on display.

  • Level Up Lab (LEGO Gingerbread Man): Worlds take shape, characters come to life, and games are programmed, played and tested before they level up from the workshop to screens around the world in this arcade area. Guests can play LEGO Party!, which features a variety of mini games for non-stop fun.

  • Story Studio (LEGO Elves): This is where the workshop dreams up what happens next, mixing characters, settings and plot twists into stories worth telling, and giving. Kids and adults can create an original hero story Mad Lib-style, then feed their sheet into the Plot Mixer to reveal the finished tale.
  • Creature Conservatory (LEGO Reindeer): Creatures take shape in LEGO brick form from legendary beasts and wild animals to beloved pets. Here, guests can create a mini LEGO reindeer make-and-take to remember their visit.

  • Memory Makers (LEGO Yeti): Friends and families come together to celebrate and capture the moments, laughs and people that make the season special, with a photo opportunity to commemorate the day.

  • The Giving Engine: This community tree powers the LEGO Holiday Workshop through kindness and gifting. Guests can build a LEGO ornament to add to the tree, then share a photo with #BuildtoGive, and the LEGO Group will donate a LEGO set to a child in need of play for every post.

And Godzilla because Godzilla is awesome.
