Fat Kid Sandwiches announces residency at Hatch Local food hall
The food hall will span the two bottom floors of the project and Hatch will focus on showcasing Richmond’s diverse local food vendors. There will be six residency concepts with an additional rotating Hatch Chef in residency concept.
Pop-up sandwich outfit Fat Kid Sandwiches has announced their residency at Hatch Kitchen’s newest project, Hatch Local.
Hatch Local is a new food hall hosted by The Current, a Lynx Venture development. The food hall will span the two bottom floors of the project and Hatch will focus on showcasing Richmond’s diverse local food vendors. There will be six residency concepts with an additional rotating Hatch Chef in residency concept.
“We’re really excited to be able to work with Fat Kid Sandwiches in another capacity. We’re stoked to have them working out of Hatch Cafe and we’re excited to continue this relationship into Hatch Local,” said Shannon Conway, Vice President of Operations at Hatch.
Already announced vendors include Sincero, authentic Mexican cuisine by Alex Bobadilla and Karen Negvesky, and Chef Mike Lindsey’s Buttermilk & Honey, offering award winning chicken sandwiches.
“Working at Hatch Kitchen, and especially our residency at Hatch Cafe, has given us the opportunity to meet many of the other vendors in the food hall. I’m excited to be part of such a great group,” said Jon Martin, partner and chef.
Liz Clifford, partner and chef, is no stranger to food halls. “Having spent three years working in the Union Market food hall in DC with Buffalo & Bergen, I jumped at the chance to be part of a similar project in Richmond. This should be a great opportunity for our business, of course, but I think it’s also a great thing for the Richmond food scene in general after such a difficult year.”
The food hall is slated to open in June. The remaining 3 vendor residencies have yet to be announced. Gift cards are available for purchase for Hatch Local in anticipation of their grand opening. You can purchase gift cards by visiting hatchlocalfoodhall.com.
Hatch Cafe will be located at 400 Hull Street, Richmond, Virginia 23224.
