Rise Biscuits & Donuts in Short Pump will celebrate National Donut Day on Friday, June 1st and will support a great cause at the same time.

The company will donate 100 percent of sales from its Chocolate Icing Donut that day to FeedMore, who helps the nearly 200,000 children, families and seniors in Central Virginia who struggle with hunger.

The store is one of 17 in the chain participating and giving proceeds to local hunger-alleviation charities.

“We believe strongly in giving back to each community we operate in,” said Rise Biscuits Donuts CEO Tom Ferguson. “We celebrate the donut every day at Rise, so we wanted to take the opportunity to help our local food banks feed those in need on National Donut Day.”

One of Rise’s most popular donuts, the Chocolate Icing features a yeast-raised donut topped with chocolate icing.

“We are immensely grateful for the support from Rise Biscuits Donuts and our other community partners,” said Tim McDermott, Chief Development Officer at FeedMore. “For every one dollar raised through this campaign, Rise customers will be able to help feed a family of four.”

Rise Richmond is located at 11561 West Broad Street in Short Pump and is open from 7:00 AM until 2:00 PM daily.
