Restaurant critic Nathalie Oates says the Carytown restaurant run by Richmond Restaurant Group is a serious upgrade on seafood from the past location, Water Coastal Kitchen.

From Style Weekly:

Simple flavors sparkle, display is exquisite and there’s no wrong thing to order. Between lunch and dinner, the menu varies. Earlier in the day diners find more salads and sandwiches while evening offers plenty of selections from the grill. A sushi and raw bar menu is always available.

The octopus ($12) easily is my favorite. Raw, shaved into paper-thin slices, it arrives in dime-sized disks arranged on a dinner plate like coins in a mosaic, topped with parsley, slivers of garlic, rock salt and a glaze of olive oil. With a lemony spritz, the result is light, yet every bit as satisfying as a plate of seafood pasta — it’s a beautiful, chilled comfort food.

We are excited to introduce a new way for our community to experience RRWeek! We are putting YOU, the dining guest, in the drivers seat. Choose your restaurant, choose your dining location, and choose your donation amount. You get the same exceptional cuisine, our restaurants get support and promotion, and Feed More gets to provide more hunger relief to our community. It’s an all around big win for the Richmond community. Are you excited to join us?!

FIRST, CHOOSE YOUR RESTAURANT(S)

With over a two dozen local restaurants participating, you are sure to find a longtime favorite or brand new love to explore and taste. Each restaurants’ menu will vary depending on their current offerings. There won’t be any special meals for RRWeek, but there will still be loads of incredibly delicious fare to choose from.

SECOND, CHOOSE YOUR DINING LOCATION

Each restaurant’s locations will vary, but you may have the option to eat inside, al fresco, or opt for take out or delivery. Spruce up your weeknight meal with delivery, plan a social distanced weekend event, or grab takeout and enjoy a picnic outdoors! The options are endless.

THIRD, CHOOSE YOUR DONATION AMOUNT

Finally, when you make your order, don’t forget to add a donation to Feed More! Each participating restaurant will have $5 donations available on their online menu for the duration of RRWeek. A $5 donation provides up to 20 meals for a neighbor in need. Feeling generous? Toss a few fivers in the cart and help Feed More give even more to our community’s most vulnerable populations.

To our dearest customers, after careful consideration, we have decided to close our doors. We like to express our deepest gratitude to you all for your support and love for Carmela’s pizza over the past 3 years!
We like to thank our whole Carmela’s team, past and present. We’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished together and couldn’t have done it without your talent and great effort of everyone involved!!
We’re just incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have opened such a beautiful pizzeria. This may not be a goodbye forever, but for now, it’s the right choice for our family.
