On the anniversary of the 2017 Women’s March, one of the largest protests in American history, women and men of Richmond will come together this weekend in Carytown.

The Women’s March RVA will begin at 10:00 AM sharp this Saturday, January 20th in the parking lot of the former Martin’s grocery store–that’s the Richmond Shopping Center near N. Thompson and W. Cary Streets. Organizers ask marchers to get there by 9:30 to organize and go over the morning’s activities and to wear pink, if they like.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend and organizers ask those attending to be respectful and kind, as the walk aims for “equality, respect, sanity, responsibility, truth, love and dignity.”

Marchers will make their way eastward down the south side of W. Cary Street through Carytown and then turn around and march westward on the north side.

“We will take responsibility for honoring all traffic regulations and picking up after ourselves,” organizers said on a Facebook page about the event. “We will be highly visible in Carytown. Make signs. Have fun. Bring a friend (or 10). We will be one of dozens of sister marches around the planet. Be a part of the solution, keep the momentum strong. We expect better. Rise up.”

More information on the march is available here.
