Some of the area’s best chefs came together last week at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center to showcase their culinary chops and vie for guests’ votes for best dish.
The Chef’s Challenge, an event hosted by the American Heart Association in advance of their flagship event, the Richmond Heart Ball, saw entries from a wide variety of entrants. Sunny Baweja of Lehja, Tiara Smith of The Drop Off Chef, Gordon Russell of The Welcome Table, Christopher Jewell of Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Tim Gradwell of Mosaic, Jimmy Tsamouras of Demi’s, Avtar Rathore of Anant, Rick Lyons of Lunch | Supper!, and Mike Ledesma of Perch all showcased their talents at the event. Ingredients for the dishes were donated by Smithfield Foods.
This year’s Heart Ball will be held on Saturday, April 27th at Main Street Station to celebrate the American Heart Association’s mission and all those who come together to move it forward.
The event is an engaging evening of fun and passion bringing community and philanthropic leaders together. The fundraising goal for this year’s event is $1.3 million, allowing the AHA to fund life-saving research and prevention programs in the Richmond community.
