Plans moving forward for NOVA aquatics center in former Macy’s at Regency Square

NOVA of Virginia Aquatics is moving ahead with plans to build a 50-meter pool at Regency mall but a final decision has not been made.

“Regency is undergoing an exciting transformation and NOVA will be a great fit as the mall is repurposed to be a thriving lifestyle center,” swim club executive director Ann McGee wrote in an email that outlines where the group is in the discussions with mall owners The Rebkee Co. and Thalhimer Realty Partners.

“After significant evaluation of the facility design, construction costs and funding sources, we have determined that the project is economically feasible and an attractive venture for all parties,” McGee wrote.
