Good afternoon, faithful Wrap readers, and welcome to the weekend. Stay dry out there with the impending nor’easter. Halloween falls on a Wednesday, but all the awesome, creepy, scary, and fall-like events are happening this weekend. A couple of them may be weather dependent, so be sure to check the events’ Facebook pages before heading out. Details below in our Weekend Event Picks! Don’t forget, we’ve also got more tickets for you to Creepy Hollow Scream Park. Contest details follow.

Ten things you need to know

  1. The City of Richmond is offering free flu shots next week – here’s how you can get yours.
  2. Another six-story, mixed-use building is coming to Scott’s Addition if developers have their way.
  3. A $291 million sports complex proposed for Northside Henrico may or may not be happening, but it’s an eye-popping proposal.
  4. The Valentine’s Controversy/History series returns next month to tackle the key issues of our city’s time.
  5. After months of work, Riverside Drive has finally reopened to traffic.
  6. Forest Hill Park is going to the dogs this weekend with Halloween Howl.
  7. As tourism spending increases, Richmond Region Tourism is brewing up a new master plan.
  8. Semmes Avenue has some freshly-painted new bike lanes as of this week.
  9. West Elm has re-entered the Richmond market with their huge new store in Carytown.
  10. Learn where you can get a free donut for wearing your Halloween costume this weekend and next week.
