The Henrico County School Board is seeking interested candidates to fill the remainder of the term previously served by veteran Tuckahoe District representative Lisa Marshall, who we reported last week resigned for health reasons. The Board discussed the process of finding a replacement for Marshall Thursday at its regularly scheduled work session. Tuesday was Marshall’s last day on the Board.

The minimal qualifications are to be a registered voter and to reside in the Tuckahoe Magisterial District in Henrico County. Applicants must send a letter expressing their interest and a current resumé to Debbie Ward, School Board clerk. In addition, interested applicants must complete a Statement of Economic Interests and a Certificate of Qualification for Appointment.

The forms, as well as desired characteristics for applicants, can be found online here.

Some of the characteristics desired for the position are past involvement with the school division, ability to work collaboratively in the interest of all Henrico County students, professionalism, and adequate time and energy to devote to representing the Tuckahoe District.

All completed applications, to include a letter of interest, resumé Statement of Economic Interests, and the Certificate of Qualification for Appointment, (either in electronic or hard copy form) must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 30th. Applications received after that time will not be considered.

The appointed member will serve on the School Board representing the Tuckahoe District until a new member, elected in November 2019, assumes office in January 2020.
