The United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg is joining forces with the Symphony Musicians of Richmond (SMOR) for a special evening of music on May 29th.

Music Unites will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church at 4491 Springfield Road in the West End. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to support United Way’s work to create lasting change and improve the quality of life in the Richmond region.

SMOR is the professional association of the musicians of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. Guest conductor Lawrence Loh, music director of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, will lead the performance.

Loh has held major conducting positions with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Syracuse Opera, Pittsburgh Youth Symphony, Dallas Symphony and the Colorado Symphony.

Loh will lead SMOR musicians in a performance of Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony. All musician participants donate their time to the event. The program is designed to educate and inspire the audience and is appropriate for all ages.
