Henrico Police is hosting an upcoming event for anyone interested in a career in law enforcement. The Diversity in Law Enforcement Orientation will be held Tuesday, May 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Henrico County Training Center.
“The Henrico County Police Division strives to reflect the community that it serves,” the department said in a statement. “This is an opportunity for interested persons to come and learn about a career in law enforcement with the seventeenth agency in the world with the distinguished Tri-Arc Accreditation through The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).”
Current police officers, animal protection officers, and communication officers (911 dispatchers) will be in attendance. The orientation will start promptly at 6:00 PM with a presentation that will outline the application process, qualifications, benefits, academy, field training, and opportunities within the division.
After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for interaction between attendees and officers. Various officers, detectives, and supervisors who represent different sections throughout the department will be available to speak one-on-one with attendees.
The event is free and open to the public–not just applicants. No RSVP is required. Those interested can simply show up.
Questions can be directed to Officer Kerry Hansen at 804.501.5196.
The Henrico County Training Center is located at 7701 E. Parham Road in the county’s West End.
