Chef Michael Hall taking over former Patina space for second Spoonbread Bistro location in Short Pump
A local restauranteur with a popular restaurant in The Fan is taking his concept west to Short Pump, taking over the former Patina space in Wellesley.
If you’re a fan of Spoonbread Bistro’s spot at Floyd Avenue and N. Robinson Street in The Fan like me (I live on the block–I can smell that delicious southern cooking all the time), this news will hit the spot. Chef Michael Hall is taking his concept west to the space that formerly housed one of my favorite former Short Pump restaurants, Patina.
From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:
Henrico County residents will soon get their own taste of chef Michael Hall’s southern cuisine.
The chef announced Monday that he’s opening a second location of his popular 1.5 year old Fan District restaurant Spoonbread Bistro in the former Patina restaurant space, which closed in September after nearly 20 years in business.
“I’ve always wanted to do two restaurants,” Hall said, noting that he was looking in both the city and county when he opened the original Spoonbread at 2525 Floyd Ave. in Sept. 2016. “This location spoke to me.”
