St. Benedict Oktoberfest returns for 13th year this weekend in the Museum District
Expect all the German food, music, and dancing you can handle and over 47 beers on tap this Friday through Sunday.
The 13th annual St. Benedict Oktoberfest, a celebration of some of the best things about German culture–beer, food, and music–takes place this weekend at St. Benedict Catholic Church in the Museum District. The fun kicks off Friday evening, September 15th, in the church’s parking lot and runs through Sunday, September 17th.
Expect a bevy of German food including the popular Wurst Platter (the best way to sample some of the festival’s most popular offerings) with bratwurst, knockwurst, weisswurst, sauerkraut, and German potato salad, or make your way through the tents and purchase a-la-carte.
The ever-popular beer trucks will have 47 brews on tap, including a number of local favorites. Hardywood Park Craft Brewery will also have their own tent featuring six beers throughout the weekend. Click here for the full 2017 beer list.
The festival will also have events and competitions throughout the weekend including the ever-popular stein-holding competition.
All proceeds from each year’s Oktoberfest are used to support direct and indirect scholarships and financial aid to the Catholic schools associated with Saint Benedict Parish–Saint Benedict Catholic School, Benedictine College Preparatory and Saint Gertrude High School.
Admission is free; attendees must visit the festival’s ticket booth to purchase food and beer tickets as no payment will be accepted at individual booths or tents. ID is required to purchase alcoholic beverages.
St. Benedict Catholic Church is located at 300 N. Sheppard Street in the Museum District.
