In an effort to increase transparency and efficiency in local government, the County of Henrico has established a new hotline citizens can use to report local government waste, fraud, and abuse within the county.

The anonymous line allows anyone to provide tips to Henrico’s Office of Internal Audit confidentially.

“Henrico County is dedicated to providing citizens responsible government, characterized by integrity and accountability,” the office said in a statement. “We are committed to eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse and to maintaining a highly ethical environment.”

The new number, 804.501.4100, complements the existing website which allows citizens to report abuse online. The new telephone hotline is a voicemail-only line with no caller ID.
