The Byrd Theatre’s Midnight & Family Classies series continue this month, with the addition of a nod to St. Paddy’s Day with two off-beat classics later this month.

Today, Wednesday, March 1st, the Cinema for Cinephiles eclectic Wednesday series opens the month with 4K restoration, One Eyed Jacks, at 7:15 PM, featuring Marlon Brando both as director and star. The weekly series delivers a temporary expansion this month, highlighted with two double bills.

March’s more versatile Hollywood Favorites picture later in the month, The Searchers starring John Wayne, features a moderated Q&A by UR Film Studies Professor Dr. Peter Lurie on March 19th.

On Saturday, March 18th, Academy nominated The Secret of the Kells will illuminate Irish folklore in this wild fantasy at 10:oo AM. Then at midnight, The Byrd screens the cult indie thriller, The Boondock Saints, a story following two Irish American twin brothers on a Catholic-tinged vigilante crusade.

New special event programming is actively being scheduled through June, to be announced by mid March, the foundation says.

The full monthly schedule for March can be seen below.
