As Scott’s Addition continues to blossom with breweries and apartments, more restaurants are beginning to look to fill in the neighborhood. Just last week, ZZQ announced plans to open its own restaurant next to Ardent Craft Ales. Today, it was announced that local chain Tazza Kitchen is seeking to open a location along Roseneath Road, near The Veil Brewing Co.

Tazza Kitchen, a casual eatery chain that started in Richmond from some of the founders of Café Caturra, also has locations in North and South Carolina. It features a variety of small plates featuring tacos, wood-fired pizzas, and more. The name “Tazza” is a combination of “tacos” and “pizza.”

From Richmond BizSense:

Local restaurant brand Tazza Kitchen has preliminary plans to occupy about 3,800 square feet in the 106,000-square-foot building at 1500 Roseneath Road, confirmed John Haggai, one of the co-founders of the regional chain.

“The location most definitely fits our vibe,” Haggai said of Scott’s Addition. “Given what’s going on, we’d like to be down there.”

Haggai emphasized the plans are “very preliminary,” and are contingent upon city council’s approval – a measure that may occur in January 2017.
