THREE NOTCHED OPENED
I couldn’t make it to the Three Notch’d Brewing Company RVA Collab House grand opening last week but there are a lot of pictures of their opening so it’s almost like I was there. You can either relive this past weekend or experience it for the first time by hitting that link in the first sentance.

STRANGEWAYS UP 95
Strangeways Brewing is expanding its operations to Fredericksburg, the Richmond brewery announced late Thursday. The business will open a second production brewery and taproom at 350 Lansdowne Road near the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds. The 10,100-square foot building sitting on almost three acres will feature a 10-barrel brewhouse, a large taproom, live event space, private event space, retail shop, arcade, and outdoor beer garden.
As a native of Virginia who was born and raised in Fredericksburg, it has always been part of owner Neil Burton’s plan to expand into his hometown, the brewery explained in a news release. The chosen location has personal meaning for Burton, a James Monroe High School graduate. “This is the exact same building where we previously headquartered my families’ clothing operation, Burton’s Menswear, which I helped operate for nearly twenty years,” he said. “That just makes this even more special and personal.”
The new Fredericksburg location will create 27 new jobs and is expected to open in the first half of 2017.

GHOST RIDER LEGEND
Legend brewing released a new beer this week in a style that you don’t see very often. It’s called Ghost Rider Black Rye IPA. Interesting, very interesting and may need personal investigation shortly.

Beers and festivals go hand in hand and the Richmond Folk Festival is no exception. Years ago beer distributor Loveland didn’t have the craft beer stable of Brown but my how things have changed. Check out the full list of beers that will be available this weekend at the Craft Beer Tent.
