Bagel subscription service rolls into town

Richmonders who oft complain about the lack of good New York bagels in town, rejoice. The (bagel) hole is being filled, if Nate’s Bagels owner Nate Matthews has anything to say about it. The weekly bagel subscription service offers freshly-baked bagels made in a shared Manchester kitchen space at $2 apiece. Varieties currently include plain, everything, salt, and sesame, with more likely to come. The bagel proprietor doesn’t currently have a retail location, but pickup is available at Blanchard’s Coffee in Scott’s Addition, J.M. Stock Provisions in The Fan, and the Birdhouse Farmers Market in Randolph. Check them out and sign up for the Bagel Club here.

New downtown restaurant gets some Beauty & Grace

Eat Restaurant Partners’ recently-opened Asian and Mexican fusion restaurant Wong Gonzalez now has a sister dining experience on the building’s upper level. Beauty & Grace is a new, multi-couse communal sushi dining experience which takes place every Saturday evening. For $35, diners can enjoy a four-course sushi meal prepared by Chef Jimmy Malone. For an additional $25, guests will receive a drink pairing with each course selected by Bar Manager Demi Ripley. Diners are greeted with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine before settling into the first course, then after the meal, are invited to enjoy Beauty & Grace’s private bar overlooking Wong Gonzalez below. Check out this week’s menu and reserve your seat online here.

Antler & Fin reopens at Boka Tavern

Short-lived (we’re talking around six weeks) restaurant Antler & Fin near Broad and Boulevard has reopened as Boka Tavern, a sister restaurant to owner Patrick Harris’s two other taco bars and mobile food truck. The restaurant is offering up its standard fare of tacos, burgers, sandwiches, and more, but plans to rotate in some of Antler & Fin’s specialty dishes such as venision and pork chops, according to the scoop from Richmond.com’s Karri Peifer. Check out the full menu here.

Patina serves up new summer menu

Short Pump mainstay Patina Restaurant & Bar on Lauderdale Drive in Wellesley has launched a new summer menu. Featured dishes include Alaskan Cod and Littleneck Clam Provencal ($25), Tuna Nicoise Salad ($26), and a Grilled Veal Chop ($33). The restaurant sources many of its ingredients from local farms. Patina is offering $2 off wine by the glass, $1 off beer, and $2 off craft cocktails at happy hour; wine by the bottle is half off on Wednesdays. Check out the menu and specials here.

Amour Wine Bistro hosting annual indoor picnic this Sunday

Amour Wine Bistro will host its annual “indoor picnic” at the restaurant in Carytown this weekend. Served family style at one communal table, the meal will feature authentic french picnic dishes such as charcuteries, cheese plates,
fresh baguettes, pork and duck rillettes, savory tarts, and more. Wine by the bottle will also be available for purchase. The picnic begins at 3:30 PM on Sunday, July 31st. You can make reservations for the $35 per person meal by calling 804.353.4020 or emailing the restaurant. View the full menu here.
