The Osprey are Back and so is Osprey Cam

If you walk along the river you’ll probably start hearing their distinctive cry.

It’s my favorite time of the year, osprey season. Osprey migrate into the area, build their nest and hatch their young before taking off again for warmer climes. This week they’ve been showing back up in their usual spots. Yesterday on T-pot I spotted 5 including media stars Maggie and Walker. Their nest is located on one of the old railroad pylons that you can see from T-Pot Bridge. When walking across just look for the tall white device on top of a pylon.

Maggie and Walker are well known because they’re the stars of RVA Osprey Cam. Although as I post this the camera appears to be down. It was working fine yesterday afternoon so hopefully this is just a temporary setback.

Until the cam comes back enjoy a few osprey shots I’ve taken of Maggie, Walker and last year’s brood.
