Tires Illegally Dumped Off Riverside Drive

Someone decided that the best way to dispose of some tires was the illegal way.

Our buddy John Murden posted these photos today of about 15 tires thrown off Riverside Drive and landing above Buttermilk Trail. This photo is to give the location roughly the 4900 block of Riverside Drive and not imply that the owners of the house had anything to do with the dumping.

 

Obviously dumping anything is illegal and in violation of § 33.2-802. and is considered a misdemeanor punishable by confinement in jail for not more than 12 months and a fine of not less than $500 or more than $2,500, either or both.

If you know anything let the police know and if you ever come across illegal dumping call 3-1-1 or 646-7000 and provide the specific location to have the abandoned tires removed or go online to https://www.rva.gov and go to RVA311 (under the Virtual City Hall section).

This tire dumping has been reported.
