GO DO THIS

RVA 48HFP Happy Hour – Ardent, Tuesday, 6-9PM

The RVA 48 Hour Film Project takes place mid-July. Teams will hit the streets of Richmond and have 48 hours to come up with an original film. A happy hour tonight at Ardent is not only a chance for those interested to learn more but a chance for participants to meet each other and perhaps find a bit of liquid inspiration.

This RVA 48HFP Happy Hour is an opportunity for film teams to mix and mingle, and for those not yet attached to a team to find one to join!

Have questions? Not yet registered? Lisa Giles, your Richmond Producer, will be on hand to answer any questions and help get you registered on site.

Beer & Hymns RVA Summa-time Edition – Center of  the Universe, Thursday, 7 PM

I didn’t know this was a thing. There is a group of local folks that like to get together, drink beer and sing hymns. Beer and Hymns motto of “Drink One – Sing One” is admirable and I certainly would rather hear fellow drinkers robustly singing a hymn than a drunken rendition of Britney Spears or Lady GaGa.

Come out this month for a wonderful time of singing summa great hymns and drinking summa great beer! We will also sing a couple of old songs from summa church camp for nostalgia’s sake.

Annual Pig Pick Party – Lickinghole Creek Brewery, Saturday

Sometimes in life you don’t want to be picked first. For one unfortunate pig that is the case this weekend. However bad it is for Mr. Piggy it is so very tasty for all of us.

Join us Saturday, July 1st to kick off 4th of July Weekend right at our Annual Pig Pick Party! Papa V’s Backyard Grill will be roasting the pig and serving it up with their delicious, fresh made sides. A $25 ticket is good for a whole pile of BBQ, three sides of your choice, a pint glass, and a beer! Tickets are pre-sale only, click the ticket URL above to get yours before they’re gone!

We will have fantastic live music by LT and The Great Scotts, a Richmond band with a unique “folk soul with grit” sound.

Dumplings – Veil Brewing Co., Sunday, 12-6 PM

I’ve long been predicting that the next “big thing” in the RVA foodie scene will be dumplings. The main reason I’ve been predicting this trend is that I want it to happen with all of my heart.  I love dumplings. Little balls of starch and protein that are so easy to eat by the dozen. This event at Veil sounds amazing.

July 2nd “InHause” teams up with the Veil Brewing Company for their debut in Richmond, VA. This second installment to their “Korea” inspired series is based from traditional Korean dumplings “Mandoo”. Aiming to give RVA a piece of South Korea, InHause brings distinct flavors and techniques to show a different style of dumplings.

BEER NEWS

Ardent hiring social media manager – Apply Here

If you spend all your time on Twitter talking about beer your employment ship has finally come in. Ardent needs a person to take care of their social media and digital empire. That’s right you’ll get to Tweet about beer, Instagram about beer, Facebook about beer and who knows maybe make the next viral gif about beer. If you don’t know a ton about beer you’ll also be going to classes so you can truly be beer savvy.

The social media and digital coordinator is responsible for maintaining Ardent’s daily presence on popular digital platforms; coordinating with the general manager to establish plans and programs that increase Ardent’s visibility on digital platforms; and promoting taproom and account events on Ardent’s website and social media accounts. In addition, the social media and digital coordinator will conduct research on craft beer marketing techniques and beer-related digital and social media platforms; as well as be committed to growing his/her own personal knowledge of beer styles and brands in general, and of Ardent’s products specifically. This job is part-time, approximately 25 to 30 hours per week.
