Bear with me, we have a bear in the neighborhood

The bear has been seen near Westover Hills Elementary.

I’m all in favor of urban wildlife, but I draw the line at black bears, which can weigh up to 300 pounds. The image above is from Wikipedia and not of the bear in question.

From WTVR:

A bear has been spotted in the area around Westover Hills Elementary School, on Jahnke Road near Forest Hill Avenue, in South Richmond.

A Richmond Police Watch Commander reported the adult bear has been seen for the last three days or so.

The bear was nowhere to be found when CBS 6 crews looked around the school Tuesday morning.

Hopefully we don’t have repeat of the incident last August when a young black bear was hit by a car on Boulevard Bridge.
