Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 as a non-profit, non-proselytizing Christian housing ministry and in that time has built over 400,000 homes. The Richmond chapter has been around since 1986 and built more than 300 homes.

That is a tremendous number of families that have been helped. In many cases that house has been raised one brick at a time, not too dissimilar from the LEGO set you might build on a lazy Saturday morning.

On Saturday, November 19th the Habitat LEGO Blitz Build will give you a chance to learn about the real life brick building that Habitat for Humanity does and get a little play time in with LEGO bricks.

This event is targeted towards youth between the ages of 5 and 12. Families can compete as well.

What to expect?

  • Learn about Habitat for Humanity!
  • Habitat BINGO & Build Puzzle- WIN PRIZES!
  • Design your own hard hat & take it home!!
  • Small Service Project
  • LEGO Build Competition- WIN PRIZES!

* Donations: when registering there was an option about bringing a donation. Below is a list of what that can be. Again, it is not mandatory for participation.

  • A monetary donation of your choosing (we will have a square at the event as well), but can take this in cash or check made out to Richmond Habitat for Humanity.
