Good evening neighbors! My son was in Forest Hill Park this evening (Thursday) and was jumped and beaten by 2 young black males. There were people in the park and someone called the police to report it, but did not want to be seen. I totally understand that and appreciate your calling it in. If by chance anyone reading this saw anything that could help the police out with a description of the car they got in to, clothing, etc. (one had on a pair of leopard print pants for example and Air Jordans) would you kindly call the police and give them any information that could help. They are still out there and anyone could be their next victim. Thank you!!

It is later mentioned that the police were able to arrest two suspects and more details of the incident emerged.

GREAT NEWS!! They caught both of them…WOOHOO! They still had his items on them that they had taken with the exception of his wallet. They attacked him from behind and while he was on the ground they kicked and beat him around the face. We are keeping an eye on him and I’m sure he will be okay….just sad, he loves to walk and he loved going to the park and just walking around listening to his music…those days are gone 🙁 Thank you everyone for your thoughts and comments and Thanks to RPD for the quick capture!

Other residents have reported being threatened in the park and many are asking for an increased police presence. This comes on the heels of a series of assaults on Sunday at Belle Isle.
