It’s a little under everyone’s, ours included, radar right now but I think the Northside community workspace RVA Createspace (607 Wickham) will soon be on everyone’s mind. RVA Createspace serves as a spot for small businesses that may have outgrown their garage or home basement birthplace.

One such business is SAVAGE Apparel Company. Named after an ultimate Frisbee term and started in a guest room by Todd Curran. The screen printer is now set to open its first full-scale production company and it’s happening at RVA Createspace.

You can’t take a big step like that without a little celebrating so that’s what they plan to do.

SAVAGE Apparel Company Grand Opening & 7th Anniversary Party

When: Friday August 5th, 6-9 PM
Where: RVA Createspace at 607 Wickham
What:  SAVAGE Apparel Company Grand Opening & 7th Anniversary Party

Full Press Release:

SAVAGE Apparel Company will host its grand opening and seven-year anniversary party on Friday, August 5 from 6-9 p.m. The milestone is a significant one for the company, which borrows its name from an ultimate Frisbee term referring to a game played with seven players.

The company has come a long way since founder Todd Curran, a Suffolk native and University of Mary Washington graduate, started screen-printing jerseys in his guest room. With the company’s first full-scale production facility now set up on the Northside of Richmond, SAVAGE is poised to serve the local community’s printing needs as well as those of niche sports teams and organizations around the world.

Most recently, the company sponsored the International Quidditch Association’s World Cup in Frankfurt, Germany; served as the official apparel provider of USA Ultimate’s High School Regional Championships around the country; and is working with the National Gay Flag Football League. SAVAGE also works with local organizations including Richmond Regional Tourism, Central Virginia Soccer Association, Synapse, Feast RVA, Richmond Volleyball Club, El Campo, and Celebrate RVA.

SAVAGE’s headquarters are part of the Northside community workspace RVA Createspace, located at 607 Wickham St. Friday’s event will not only introduce attendees to the SAVAGE team and their facility, but will highlight the efforts of fellow Createspace members such as wood-and-metalworkers B.C. Creations and Ninja Kombucha, which created a special SAVAGE-themed kombucha for the event. The free event will also include food, live screenprinting, giveaways, games, live music, and beer from Triple Crossing Brewing.
