“Better Late” brings monthly late-night comedy to Coalition Theater
The new show pairs local hosts with guest comedians, live music, and offbeat interviews.
Better Late, a new monthly late-night comedy series, is set to debut at Coalition Theater in Richmond this Saturday. The show brings together sketch, stand-up, interviews, and live music, aiming to offer a locally produced take on the late-night format.
The series is hosted by three performers familiar to Richmond audiences and beyond. Sara Schaefer is a nationally recognized comedian and writer whose career includes hosting MTV’s Nikki & Sara Live with Nikki Glaser, writing for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and releasing award-winning stand-up albums. Kimberly Nario is a Richmond-based comedian, writer, and performer known for her work with Coalition Theater and appearances across the region’s comedy stages. Josh Bluebaugh is a longtime Coalition performer and improv comedian who has hosted and appeared in multiple shows with the theater’s ensemble.
Each installment will feature a rotating lineup curated by Richmond writers and performers. For its first outing in December, the show will include sets by guest comedians Alex Na and The Tiramisu Guy, an interview with a federal employee, and music from a house group billed as The Better Late Band.
Tickets are $15, with a discounted $12 rate available at the door with a valid college ID. More details are available on the Coalition Theater website here.
