The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities will begin work on stormwater improvements and cavitation repairs in the 3400 block of West Cary Street on Monday, September 22. The project is expected to last through Monday, October 6, weather permitting.

Work will take place each day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. During this time, traffic control measures will be in place with temporary lane closures and sidewalk detours stretching from West Cary Street to South Nansemond Street.

The project is designed to strengthen stormwater infrastructure in the area and is expected to be completed within two weeks, barring any unforeseen delays.

For updates on street closures related to utility projects, residents can follow the Department of Public Utilities on Twitter here. Citizens may also sign up for CivicReady to receive alerts about utility work impacts in their neighborhoods.
