Regional coworking space operator Gather to open new location in Innsbrook in 2025
“We are thrilled to be able to open our first new location since the COVID pandemic,” said Gather CEO Doug White. “Gather will now manage more than 100,000 square feet of workspace in the Richmond region.”
Gather, an operator that designs, builds, and operates coworking locations in Virginia, is growing in the West End. Today, the company announced plans to open Gather West End near Broad Street and Cox Road in Spring 2025. This new addition—the first post-COVID—will expand Gather’s footprint to eight locations in the Commonwealth, with five in Richmond and three in the greater Hampton Roads region. Its closest existing location is in West Broad Village in Short Pump.
Gather West End will occupy 19,452 square feet on the second floor of 4101 Cox Road. Designed to accommodate more than 300 people, the spacious building features 92 private offices of varying sizes for 1-15 people and opportunities to create suites for larger teams. Amenities include a video recording and podcast room, open-area workspaces, eight conference rooms, and a large 30-person training room.
Like its counterparts throughout the Gather enterprise, Gather West End’s communal kitchen will be stocked with tea, fruit-infused water, locally roasted coffee, and a rotation of craft beers and wines. Members will enjoy a packed calendar of professional and social events, including a Wednesday Cookie Hour with fresh-baked goodies. Plus, the Broad Street corridor offers members various dining and shopping options at lunch or after hours.
“We are excited to bring another Gather to the West End of Richmond,” said James Crenshaw, an owner of Gather. “Our neighboring Short Pump location has been extremely successful since it opened in 2018. Special thanks to our team and our wonderful members for making Gather such a special place to get work done.”
“We can’t wait to open our new location to the West End community,” said Ashley Sill, Regional Vice President of Gather. “I’m especially excited to add value to our existing members by giving them access to more workspace and conference options, which are all already included in their existing memberships.”

“Gather Short Pump has been an overwhelming success, and this new location will provide further co-working capacity in the West End,” said Gareth Jones with JLL Richmond, who represented Gather in lease negotiations with Highwoods Properties. “We expect this expansion to deliver a best-in-market co-working environment at the gateway to Innsbrook, the Richmond region’s largest business park, with walkability to restaurants, shopping, and hotels.”
The largest coworking operator in Virginia, Gather has more than 3,000 combined members in Richmond (Arts District, Scott’s Addition, Short Pump, Midlothian), Newport News, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach, covering a wide range of industries.
Members of Gather enjoy reciprocity at Gather’s soon-to-be eight locations and with Gather’s coworking partners in the mid-Atlantic. Members range from individual freelancers to small businesses and larger international enterprises that have selected Gather for their local outposts.
