Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden offers birdwatching, cocktails in the conservatory, and more this month

There’s lots to love in February at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Here’s a look at the events coming up at the Lakeside destination this month.

Saturday, Feb. 17; 9 a.m.-noon

Great Backyard Bird Count

Included with Garden admission
Grab your binoculars and help with the Great Backyard Bird Count on Feb. 17. Drop by the Lora Robins Library between 9 a.m.-noon for a checklist of birds to look for in the Garden; meet other birding enthusiasts and partner organizations.

Saturday, Feb. 17; 6-9 p.m.  

Cocktails in the Conservatory

Ticketed event for ages 21+; tickets available online: $20 non-members; $15 members
Escape to a tropical paradise with this rare chance to experience the warm and cozy Conservatory on a winter’s evening while enjoying specialty cocktails and tasty light bites (both for purchase), live music and tours. Guests can also float a message or wish with a tea light in the Conservatory’s reflection pools.  Perfect for a Valentine’s date night or a get-together with friends.

February 23-25

Virginia Orchid Society Show and Sale

The show is included with regular Garden admission. No cost to attend the sale and lectures.
Multi-day weekend event featuring hundreds of orchids on display and for sale, free lectures, orchid vendors and more. Presented by the Virginia Orchid Society; this year’s theme is “Orchids: Let’s Celebrate”. See event for hours and list of vendors.
