Having been a supporter of the Kickers for many years I can say without a doubt this is the best jersey since the 1995 jersey. That 1995 had Arby’s as a sponsor which is hard to beat but I think they’ve done it with another slightly recognizable front of the jersey sponsor.

The official press release:

The Richmond Kickers unveil their new Adidas primary red kits for the 2021 season. Ukrop’s becomes the new front of jersey sponsor for both the pro team. Renewing their partnership, Bon Secours returns as the back of the jersey sponsor.

“We are excited to have Ukrop’s on the front of the pro jersey for the first time ever,” said Kickers Chairman, Rob Ukrop. “Ukrop’s was one of our first partners when the club was founded in 1993, and we are thankful for the continued support as our club continues to strengthen community connections through the beautiful game.”

Ukrop’s has been a long-time supporter of the Kickers, now moving to the front of the jerseys in 2021. From their roots as a grocery store started in 1937, to beloved national food manufacturer and a local Market Hall of today, Ukrop’s has always strived to nourish the lives of our customers and their communities.

“Ukrop’s support of soccer began in 1981 with the inaugural Richmond Invitational Indoor Soccer Tournament which attracted top youth teams from outside our region,” commented Bobby Ukrop, Chairman and CEO of Ukrop’s. “We have been pleased to be involved in helping support the amazing growth in soccer in RVA and sports tourism for more than four decades.”

Bon Secours enters their seventh year as a partner of the Kickers. As the Official Healthcare Services Provider of the Richmond Kickers, Bon Secours brings a full spectrum of high-quality sports medicine care and services to both the Kickers professional team and youth players, including concussion awareness and management, orthopedic care, sports performance services, physical therapy, safety education, and injury prevention practices.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Richmond Kickers, and we are proud of the work we have done together over the last several years to strengthen the health of our community by helping Richmond’s youth stay active,” added Ryan Stuhlreyer, Vice President of Service Line Strategy, Bon Secours Richmond. “We look forward to maintaining this momentum into another great year and season ahead.”

The Kickers take the field this Saturday night on the road against New England Revolution II. This will be the first chance to catch a glance at the new secondary kits, plus the new sponsors. Kickoff for that match is set for 5:00 p.m. The match will stream live on ESPN+, along with locally in Richmond on WTVR CBS 6.3 (Comcast 206, Verizon FiOS 466). This match will also be broadcasted live in Spanish on the radio on WULT Ultra 94.1FM/1540AM.

The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce their broadcast partners for the 2021 USL League One season. WTVR CBS 6 will continue their partnership with the Kickers to broadcast all matches this season. New for the 2021 season, Spanish radio station WULT Ultra 94.1FM/1540AM will air all road matches.

“Extending our partnership with CBS 6 through 2022 is very exciting for us, and a key part of our initiative to bring the Richmond community together,” said Amy Neal, Kickers VP of Partnerships. “We are proud to provide our fans the opportunity to watch any regular season game through the WTVR broadcast.”

A partnership that formed prior to the start of the 2017 season, the Kickers and CBS 6 are entering their fifth season. Throughout this time, both organizations have partnered on several different events such as car giveaways and the #RallyTogether Fund in 2020.

“A lot of exciting storylines for the Richmond Kickers’ 2021 season,” commented Stephen Hayes, WTVR CBS 6 General Manager. “CBS 6 looks forward to televising every match on WTVR 6.3 (Comcast 206/Verizon 466) or WTVR 6.1. Thanks to the Kickers for the high level of soccer they bring to Central Virginia as well as their commitment to our community.”

The Kickers entered into a new partnership for the 2021 season with WULT Ultra 94.1FM/1540AM, which is set to air all Kickers road matches on the radio in Spanish. John Emmett and Brenda Acevedo will be calling the action. Fans can listen in on UltraRadioRichmond.com.

“We are very proud to be the first radio station in Richmond to do the Richmond Kickers games play-by-play in Spanish,” added Michael Mazursky, President of Mobile Radio Partners, owner of WULT 94.1FM/1540AM and WTOX 1480AM. “This is just the beginning of partnering with the Kickers for many years to come. Futbol is the number one sport in the world and now the Hispanic community in Richmond can follow the away games in their native language.”

Adding to the excitement of this partnership, Kickers Senior Manager of Marketing and Branding, Alyn Carr said “I’m so glad and excited that we can finally give Kickers soccer in Spanish. This is a goal I’ve had since starting at the Kickers, and I’m glad that we are able to partner with wonderful people at Boomtown and Ultra Radio to start taking steps in that direction.”
