A pleasant surprise was found on the morning walk today. Poor Georgie’s Bake Shoppe has opened a pop-up bakery in the old Act1 Hair Design spot at 5073 Forest Hill Avenue.

Currently, they’re heavy on the cakes due to that is where the catering side of the business is focused right now. If you’re more of a pie guy/gal don’t fret Friday will be pie day. If Poor Georgie seems familiar that’s because he’s a vendor at the South of the James Farmers Market. You check his full menu of treats here.

The operation is planning on being there for the next two months and the hours are below. So walk over and get a tasty slice of cake. In the interest of science, we tested the pound cake and it passed with flying colors.
