Stumpy’s Hatchet House Bringing Axe Throwing Fun to Stony Point Fashion Park

If you’ve ever wanted to enjoy a beer and throw an axe with (not at) your friends we’ve got good news for you. Stumpy’s Hatchet House will serve all your axe throwing needs. Set to open next spring at Stony Point Fashion Park near Dillard’s. Stumpy’s will set you up in a special throwing pit and hurl axes at a wooden target.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House, home of the “social throw down” – and known as the place where you can “axe-perience” a release from life’s stresses – is opening its first Virginia location at Stony Point Fashion Park in the spring of 2020.

“In the past several years, Stumpy’s has been featured in national media articles from the New York Times to Forbes, raving about its unique experience, and we’re extremely excited to welcome them to Stony Point,” said Karen Alley, Marketing Director at Stony Point Fashion Park.

With hundreds of axes ready to go, Stumpy’s offers a down-home experience with a casual setting including farmhouse tables and couches. In Stumpy’s controlled and safe throwing pit, customers take turns hurling their hatchet at a wood stump target bolted to a wall.

When not throwing, guests are invited to gather in Stumpy’s common area at large farm tables and comfy couches. Snacks and beverages and ice are available for purchase, including wine and beer.

Around the U.S., axe-throwing has become a favorite, unique way to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and bachelor and bachelorette parties. Stumpy’s is also perfect for team building, community gatherings, reunions, fundraisers and more.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House will occupy 6,700 square feet in the Dillard’s wing.
