A common complaint is that Richmond schools are in terrible shape. This Saturday morning starting around 9 AM everyone has an opportunity to help improve the schools through direct action.

From Facebook:

This August 17th is our 3rd annual Forest Hill Serve Day! We partner with local vendors, our 4th District city council member – Kristen Larson and 4th district school board representative – Jonathan Young, Hands-on Greater Richmond, RVA Clean Sweep and Richmond Public Schools to serve through beautification projects in and around the schools of the Forest Hill Corridor. Mark your calendars and sign up for one of the three locations on August 17th- Lucille Brown Middle School, Redd Elementary School, Miles Jones Elementary School, and cleanup on Jahnke Rd!
