Gloria Ruggeri’s Dachshund, Toby, should have been the star of his own series of storybooks. Having passed over the Rainbow Bridge before he could put paw to paper, Toby inspired something much larger than storybooks – he inspired an entire dog town.
Toby Town RVA, which recently opened on June 22nd is the area’s newest dog daycare and staycare facility, where dogs of all shapes, sizes, and abilities are welcomed. Ruggeri says she has built a facility she knows Toby would have loved, and she now intends to share her Toby-inspired care with all of the Greater Richmond community.
Located near Broad Street and Staples Mill at 2100 Maywill Street, the newly reimagined and renovated 6,700-square-foot space can house up to 80 modern kennel accommodations, as well as indoor and outdoor play spaces.
The facility offers personalized daycare play schedules, supervised enrichment activities, daytime and nighttime boarding options, and pet care services to support each dog’s individual needs.
Owner-operator Ruggeri deeply understands the anxieties dog parents undergo when leaving their furry family members at a new place. She wants all dog moms and dads to know they are leaving their fur babies in a safe, happy, secure environment.
“We know how important it is for dog parents to feel confident their dog is in caring, knowledgeable hands when they are away,” Ruggeri says. “At Toby Town RVA, we work with clients to understand their dog’s special needs. We take great pride in meeting and exceeding pet parents’ expectations and dogs’ individual requirements.”
In short, Toby Towners know that everyone has a Toby. “There’s no better promise,” Ruggeri says, “than our pledge to treat your pet with the same care and concern as our Toby.”
