RTD has the news on the miniature Walmart near VCU is closing up.

The store at 912 W. Grace St. will close effective July 12, the retailer confirmed Monday.

The 4,100-square-foot store opened in April 2015.

The chain said it made the decision to close the store after “a thoughtful review process.”

“This decision is based on the fact that, as a business, we feel confident we have learned what we can from these pilot stores. We will continue to integrate the positive business practices we gained from these campus-based locations into the broader fleet moving forward,” spokesman Phillip Keene said in a statement.
