From Councilman Parker Agelasto’s Facebook:

This Saturday, October 20 (9 AM-12 PM) the 5th District office will be planting 30 new trees in Carter Jones/Fonticello Park. This planting is thanks to grant from the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and approval from Richmond VA Parks and Recreation. There will be a partnership the day of the planting with the Richmond Tree Stewards to help with the developmental pruning of the roots and branches. Groundwork RVA will start a two year water contract in the Spring 2019 to ensure these trees get a good start. Crossroads RVA will be providing caffeine and pastries to get us going!

This is a great opportunity for middle & high school students to get volunteer hours needed for school. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and there is a playground for the little ones.
