From organizers:

More and more women are getting involved in the outdoors and changing the face of the outdoor community. It’s inspiring to see so many women out hiking, biking, paddling, climbing etc. One organization here in Richmond is helping to promote further involvement and empowering women by teaching new skills while also providing an avenue for creating new friendships. This group is the non-profit organization Women’s Multisports of Richmond. To give you just a taste of what they do, Women’s Multisports of Richmond has mountain bike rides every Tuesday, which are open to both women as well as men. They have an event every third Thursday of the month to get out and explore Richmond, and they organize hikes with our four-legged friends at parks around the area.

For the month of June, we are throwing it back to our Mappy Hour roots with a BYOB event. We will be taking a break from the brewery scene and visiting a local bike retailer in town. Carytown Bicycle Company (Carytown Location) will be our host Wednesday, June 13th for our next Mappy Hour event featuring Lorene Davidson, the co-founder of WMR. She will be sharing her story and more information about the amazing role WMR is playing in women’s involvement in the outdoor community. So bring a six-pack and come hang out for the evening. Looking forward to seeing you there!
