Binford Middle teacher sings her way into our hearts for glue

A teacher isn’t singing for her supper but rather singing for basic school supplies for her students.

Schools across the city (nation) are severely underfunded. In some cases, basic supplies are not available. Binford Middle School is no exception. Teacher Juliane Codd Toce has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for supplies and that is not so unusual. What makes this campaign unique is the why she asks for money.

The video below “All I Want for Christmas is Glue” brings together the whole school, should put a smile on your face and hopefully loosen your wallet.

Why glue? That’s depressing as well.

From the GoFundMe Page:

In our class, we create our own interactive notebooks. We don’t have enough textbooks for each student to have one to take home (I have 27 – total – and 95 students), so we make our own way of studying! This requires a lot of glue! And paper! And notebooks! And scissors! I’m truly talking the basics.

As little as $500 will make it possible for the 6th grade team to buy the supplies we need so that each student has what they need!

Our students spend a lot of time thinking about things only adults should worry about. Such as, will my phone be cut off, where is dinner coming from, how am I going to get to school if the car is broken, why was the electricty turned off, where am I sleeping tonight, etc.

Please help us out so we can take one thing off the list: How am I going to get my school supplies ?
