Great news for parents that enjoy good food. Laura Lee’s is offering up free food for your little one as long as you’re willing to get dinner a little early. For most parents, this isn’t a big deal.

Here are the details, kids eat for free from the excellent kid’s menu before 6 PM, as long as someone orders an adult entree or sandwich. One of the best parts is that “kid” is defined as 14 and below so if you’ve got a picky newly minted teen this could be awesome.

The kid’s menu is pretty nice.  You’ll find grilled ham and cheese, pasta dish, and fried chicken. No chicken nuggets and applesauce in a plastic container here.

Starting this Monday, November 27, kids eat for free before 6 PM on Monday-Thursday.

It’s simple – we want to be a great neighborhood restaurant, and we like kids. If it’s nice out, grab a seat on the patio. If not, snuggle into a booth. Wherever you end up, we want you to relax and enjoy your meal.

The Kid’s Happy Hour blah blah blah: One free item from the Kid’s Menu with any adult entree or sandwich. Dine-in only. Walk-in or reservations. Monday-Thursday only. Kids 14 and under. Orders into the kitchen before 6 PM.

Laura Lee’s is an updated take on the American fern bar, with a focus on great food set in a welcoming environment in Richmond’s Southside. Our space is comfortable and lovely, with living walls, padded chairs and semi-circular booths, and a classic mirrored bar.

A native of Danville, Virginia, Elby’s Rising Star nominee Chef Scott Lewis worked with Chef Lee Gregory at Six Burner and The Roosevelt, and with Gregory and Chef Joe Sparratta at Southbound before becoming head chef at Laura Lee’s in 2016.

Kacie Shortridge (The Roosevelt) is the talent behind Laura Lee’s cocktails, including the signature Tiger’s Eye. She can sling a chocolate milk or juice box, too.

The indomitable Michael Smith (The Roosevelt, Amuse), our front of the house manager, won an Elby award in 2017 for his dedication to good service.

Kendra Feather owns 4 other restaurants in Richmond, Virginia. Feather opened Ipanema Cafe in 1998, Garnett’s Cafe in 2009, The Roosevelt (with Lee Gregory) in 2011, and was a founding partner of WPA Bakery (Church Hill) in November 2012. Garnett’s at The Valentine opened in June 2017. She was named Restaurateur of the Year by Richmond Magazine in 2013, and featured in The Virginia Table in 2015.

Laura Lee’s is named for Kendra’s mother Laura Lee Feather, daughter of Garnett Beckman.
