West End
West End practice offering free dental services to the public this Saturday, September 30th
Those who attend can choose one service they need the most–a dental cleaning, tooth extraction, or a filling. Services are on a first come, first served basis, and no reservations are being taken in advance. Everyone over age five is welcome to attend.
Local dental practice River Run Dental is giving back to the community by providing free dental care to anyone in need over the age of five this Saturday.
The event, known as Dentistry from the Heart, is being held September 30th from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM, is taking place at their office at 7820 Shrader Road in the West End.
Patients do not have to provide proof of income, lack of insurance, or anything else to be treated. Those waiting to be treated will be waiting outside the office until it is their turn, so the office recommends attendees plan appropriately for the weather.
Dentistry From The Heart was started by Dr. Vincent Monticciolo in 2001, a dentist who wanted to give back to the community and to provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. Dentistry From The Heart is a registered non-profit organization that provides free dental work for people in need. Since 2001, it has grown to include over 200 annual events nationwide and has provided more than 60,000 people with an estimated $8 million in free dental care services.
This will be the second year that River Run Dental has hosted a Dentistry From The Heart event in Richmond, Virginia. In 2016, River Run Dental served nearly 90 patients at their inaugural event, providing over $21,000 in free dental treatments.
