The event aims to attract new candidates from all different backgrounds for a number of different open positions within the department.
The Henrico County Police Division is extending the invitation to an event to be held October 4th aimed at anyone who is interested in a career in law enforcement. The division will host a Diversity in Law Enforcement orientation on Wednesday, October 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Henrico County Training Center, located at 7721 E. Parham Road.
“The Henrico County Police Division strives to reflect the community that it serves,” Henrico Police shared in a statement. “This is an opportunity for interested persons to come and learn about a career in law enforcement with one of only seventeen agencies in the world with the distinguished Tri-Arc Accreditation through The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).”
Current police officers, animal protection officers, and communication officers (911 dispatchers) will be in attendance. The orientation will start promptly at 6:00 PM with a presentation that will outline the application process, qualifications, benefits, academy, field training, and opportunities within the division.
After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for interaction between attendees and officers. Various officers, detectives, and supervisors who represent different sections throughout the department will be available to speak one-on-one with attendees.
The event is open to the public–not just applicants–and no RSVP is required.
Those with questions ahead of the event are asked to call Officer Aliese Alter at 804.501.5196.
