“Play It Forward” event will bring together multiple generations as part of Active Aging Week

Organizers say the event is a unique opportunity to bring preschoolers and older adults together for an intergenerational event filled with games, exercise, prizes, arts and crafts, fun and laughter.

In celebration of Active Aging Week, Henrico Recreation and Parks is teaming up with Senior Connections, The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, Family Lifeline, and Anthem CareMore to host the second annual “Play it Forward…Aging Together” event.

Organizers say the event is a unique opportunity to bring preschoolers and older adults together for an intergenerational event filled with games, exercise, prizes, arts and crafts, fun and laughter.

The event takes place Tuesday, September 26th from 10:00 AM until noon at the Deep Run Recreation Center, located at 9900 Ridgefield Parkway in the county’s West End.

Active Aging Week, which began September 24th, is an annual health promotion event for older adults organized by International Council on Active Aging, the goal of which is to give as many older adults as possible the means to experience activities and exercise in a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere.
