Each year, HandsOn Greater Richmond hosts a day of service, coordinating scores of volunteer projects across the city aimed at making our city a better place. This year, HandsOn Day, as it’s been known in the past, is being billed as “Give A Day RVA.”
The event, the region’s largest day of service, is coming up this Saturday, September 23rd. This year, organizers say there are over 1,300 volunteer opportunities at more than 55 service projects–and there’s still time to register.
Volunteers will be painting, cleaning, landscaping, planting and much more at area schools, parks, and non-profits. Projects will also include DIY and drop in projects that offer flexible scheduling. Many projects are also family-friendly.
No matter where you live in Richmond, there’s an opportunity near you. Our friends at HandsOn Greater Richmond have highlighted a cool opportunity to get involved on the neighborhood level for our neighbors in each of the six areas we cover around town.
Here’s how you can get involved in an opportunity near your own home and make lasting impact.
