ART 180 hosts First Fridays opening reception September 1st for their new The Picture Book Project art exhibit opening at Atlas.

“The Picture Book Project” originated by Richmond Young Writers – an organization that teaches creative writing to young people eight to 17 – features stories written by youth, and illustrations created collaboratively by professional artists and young people in the workshop. The illustrations from each book will be on display alongside the stories in this preview of each. You can purchase a book at richmondyoungwriters.com.

The reception is family friendly, open to the public and features an all-ages activity.

The show will remain on display at Atlas, ART 180’s art center for teens, through September 22. Atlas is located at 114 W. Marshall St. in Jackson Ward and is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment.
