Henrico man robbed while trying to sell electronic device on Staples Mill Road

It’s a good reminder to meet in a secure, public place when buying or selling anything on Craigslist or through Facebook.

On Thursday, August 10, 2017 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Henrico Police responded to the 7500 block of Staples Mill Road for a robbery. The victim met a person who was to buy an electronic device the victim was selling. During the encounter, the suspect grabbed the device, and during a struggle, threatened the victim. The suspect fled on foot with the victim’s property and was last seen leaving the area as a passenger in a silver four-door passenger car.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’0”- 6’2”, 160-180 pounds. He was wearing a red shirt, black shorts, white shoes and socks. Photographs of the suspect and vehicle can be seen above.

The Henrico County Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the subject responsible for this crime. Anyone with information regarding this offense is asked to contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by their tip.  Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
