The 2016-17 school year is ending, but HCPS is hard at work building a great team for the fall. The school division is seeking full-time and substitute school nutrition workers and bus drivers, it was announced last week.

“We need strong bus driver candidates for our summer training sessions,” said Josh Davis, HCPS director of pupil transportation.

“This time of year we need to fill positions expected to open through summer attrition. We will be training new drivers for contracted and substitute positions for school year 2017-18. Successful candidates will also be offered part-time work in the summer.”

“Working in a cafeteria at one of our HCPS schools offers employees the flexibility of a great schedule that complements the school calendar,” said Peggy Gordon, the school division’s director of school nutrition services. “No nights or weekends are required – come join a great team and feed the children of HCPS.”

Members of the HCPS Human Resources, School Nutrition Services and Pupil Transportation departments will be at Henrico County Public Library’s new Varina Area Library on June 6 to talk with interested candidates.

Applicants are encouraged to apply online in advance at

It all takes place Tuesday, June 6th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Varina Area Library located at 1875 New Market Road.
