David Lynch as been an inspiration to many and burlesque is no exception. Get ready for a strange time this Saturday.
It’s been 25 years since the final broadcast of Twin Peaks. With its impending return to airwaves, The Revue invites you to celebrate the colorful dreamscapes of a visionary director, David Lynch. Surreal and shocking scenes from bizarre works will come to life at Gallery 5 on Saturday, May 27 for A Damn Fine Burlesque Show! “In Lynch’s world, everything is a little brighter, a little bit darker, a little bit shinier, a little bit more colorful than the real world, but with a rich sensuality and a quirky sense of humor. It’s a natural fit for the performers of The Revue,” says host Zhora Nova.
The show features performances by Magnolia Jackson Pickett Burnside, Empress de Nasté, Melody Magpie, Souvenir, Caza Blanca, Barnabas Beverly Burnside, The Professor and the Madwoman, Feverella, and Honey Glaze. As usual with The Revue, there will be plenty of chances to snag prizes and participate in the revelry throughout the show. Vendors will also be on hand with plenty of goods to purchase.

Charity raffle will benefit WRIR, Richmond Independent Radio
About The Revue:The Revue is a spinoff of the Richmond Burlesque Revue which was started in 2011 by renown burlesque performer, Deepa de Jour. After five stellar years, de Jour transitioned the show to Magnolia Jackson Pickett Burnside, Zhora Nova, Candy Pantzzz and Honey Glaze. The team remains dedicated to celebrating the diversity and quality of the performing community and plans to mentor new performers, hosts, and producers, as well as give back to RVA. Currently, they feature a local charity raffle at their monthly Gallery 5 shows.
The name change is a nod to the team’s plan to include variety acts like singers, drag queens, magicians, belly dancers, and whatever else weird they can wrangle to the stage. But worry not, there will always and forever be plenty of butts and boobs.
