Local barre studio teaming up with Richmond Flying Squirrels to fight cancer Saturday

Donations of at least $25 to Massey Cancer Center will provide entry to the ballpark and a raffle ticket for prizes.

Saturday’s Richmond Flying Squirrels Game will feature a pre-show event in partnership with Richmond’s three area Pure Barre studios and VCU Massey Cancer Center. The fitness studios are joining forces again this year in the fight against cancer for the third annual “Plank Off” in which participants will hold the “plank” position for three minutes. The studios hope to raise $20,000 for VCU Massey Cancer Center, surpassing last year’s amount of $15,000.

It all takes place Saturday, May 20th at 5:45 PM, just before the first pitch at The Diamond.

Donations of at least $25 to Massey Cancer Center will provide entry to the ballpark and a raffle ticket for prizes.

“Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with cancer and Richmond’s Pure Barre studios are committed to raising awareness, giving back to the RVA community, and supporting the groundbreaking research of Massey Cancer Center,” a representative said in an email.
